The diagonal basketweave stitch is a very dense and thick stitch that is similar to the basketweave stitch. Because of its thickness, this pattern is great for dish rags, pot holders or placemats. When using the diagonal basketweave stitch for knitted garments such as sweaters or scarves, it is recommended that you go up three to four needle sizes depending on your yarn.
