The Broken Rib Slip Stitch is a rib stitch with slip stitches running horizontally across the columns. Because of the slip stitches, the Broken Rib Slip Stitch is rated as intermediate. This stitch very stretchy, which makes it perfect for sweaters and edgings.

Row 4: k1, sl3 wyib, *k1, p1, k1, sl3 wyib; rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 5: repeat Row 1.
Row 6: repeat Row 2.
Row 7: p1, *p1, k1, p1, sl3 wyif; rep from * to last 4 sts, p1, k1, p2.
Row 8: k2, p1, k1, *sl3 wyib, k1, p1, k1; rep from * to last st, k1.
