Ridge Rib Stitch

The Ridge Rib stitch is a simple stitch pattern that is perfect for beginning knitters. By looking at this stitch, it is clear that it is a rib stitch but with the garter stitch added thus creating the “ridge” affect. The easy-knit Ridge Rib stitch is perfect for large projects such as scarves, sweaters, cardigans and blankets.

Multiple of 2 sts+1

Row 1 (RS): knit.
Row 2: knit.
Row 3: p1, *k1, p1; rep from * to end.
Row 4: k1, *p1, k1; rep from * to end.

Repeat Rows 1-4.

Knitting In-The-Round
Multiple of 2 sts

Rd 1: knit.
Rd 2: purl.
Rd 3: *k1, p1; rep from * to end of round.
Rd 4: *k1, p1; rep from * to end of round.

Repeat Rds 1-4.
