Fan Stitch

The Fan stitch is a lace stitch which resembles the Feather and Fan stitch. This stitch is knitted in a multiple of 13 stitches plus 2 and is a done in a 6-row repeat. Even though it is rated as intermediate, the Fan stitch is not a difficult lace stitch to knit. The Fan stitch’s wave-like qualities make it perfect for shawls and edgings on sleeves and scarves.

Row 1 (RS): k1, *sl 1, k1, psso, k9, k2tog; rep from * to the last st, k1.
Row 2: purl.
Row 3: k1, *sl 1, k1, psso, k7, k2tog; rep from * to the last st, k1.
Row 4: purl.
Row 5: k1, *sl 1, k1, psso, yo, (k1, yo) x5, k2tog; rep from * to the last st, k1.
Row 6: knit.

Repeat Rows 1-6.
