Pebble Stitch – in the round

By strategically placing increases and decreases to create textured “knots,” the Pebble Stitch achieves a look similar to the Trinity or Berry stitches. When worked in the round, this four-round repeat is exceptionally simple to execute and knits up quickly.

Keep in mind that during Round 4, your stitch count will temporarily increase due to the frequent increases; however, your original stitch count will return to normal in the subsequent rounds. If you want to add rich texture to your circular knitting projects without the hassle of purling every other row, the Pebble Stitch in the round is an ideal choice.

Knitting Abbreviations

k2tog (knit 2 together): insert the right-hand needle into the first two stitches on the left-hand needle and wrap the working yarn around the right-hand needle as if you would for a knit stitch. Pull the yarn through both stitches and slide both stitches off the left-hand needle. You have now knitted two stitches together, thus resulting in a right-leaning decrease.
