Hello knitters! I’m happy to announce the release of my newest addition to the Purl Avenue patterns collection: the Madeleine Blouse. If you’ve been following me on Pattern Street, you’ve pretty much seen the step-by-step updates and progress with this pattern. I admit, it was an absolute joy to knit, and while designing and doing research for this pattern, I discovered a new stitch/technique from a fellow knitter, which I ended up incorporating into the edges and neckline of the blouse.
The design’s conception was during the height of summer, where the daily temperature around here was almost unbearably hot, therefore, I knew I wanted to knit this top using something soft and cool to the touch. Welcome, Loops and Threads Silky Soft yarn. Made from bamboo fibers, Loops and Threads Silky Soft fits the bill perfectly as it is incredibly soft and gives off a cooling effect. I absolutely fell in love with its silky texture and phenomenal drape quality.
The design itself is classically simple, where it can be paired with jeans for a casual look or with a skirt or dress pants for a more formal occasion. This elegant knit features a sophisticated boat neckline and a relaxed silhouette that offers both comfort and style. Intricate details along its edges, including the sleeves, give it a modern flair. Whether you are dressing for the office or a weekend brunch, the versatile Madeleine Blouse adds a touch of handmade luxury to any ensemble.
