Tiny Shells Stitch – in the round

The original Tiny Shells Stitch has been modified for circular knitting in this pattern. The Tiny Shells Stitch – in the round is a lace stitch pattern that resembles little shells being stacked in a column.. This “in the round” version is knitted in a multiple of 7 stitches and worked in a 4-round repeat. Most of the rounds are worked in “knits” and the one round that contains increase and decrease techniques are not too difficult work through, making this stitch pattern perfect for beginning or intermediate lace knitters.

Knitting Abbreviations

p3tog (Purl 3 Together)
Insert the right-hand needle into the first three stitches on the left-hand needle and wrap the working yarn around the right-hand needle as if you would for a purl stitch. Pull the yarn through both stitches and slide both stitches off the left-hand needle. You have now purled two stitches together thus resulting in a right-leaning decrease (if you’re viewing it from the right side).

yo
(yarn over)=wrap the yarn around the right-hand needle from back to front counterclockwise before knitting the next stitch. Then work the next stitch as normal.
